Privacy policy

The short version

• We do not sell your data, share it for advertising or track you across other apps and websites.
• Pros see your first name, neighborhood and request. Your exact address goes only to the pro you hire.
• Competing pros never see each other's quote prices.
• Card details are handled by our payment processor. We never store full card numbers.
• You can delete your account in the app at any time.

What we collect

Your account

An account identifier from the sign-in method you choose, your name, and your email address or phone number. We may confirm your phone number with a one-time code.

Customers

The requests you post: the service, your answers, details, timing, photos you add, your ZIP code and, when you book, the address for the job. Your saved pros, the pros you block, and the reviews you write.

Pros

Your business profile: name, services, travel radius, home ZIP code, starting prices, bio, photos, links, license numbers and states, and proof of insurance if you add it. Your lead credits, quotes, jobs and payout details, which our payment processor holds.

Everyone

Messages, bookings and payment status, reports you send or that are made about you, and device information needed for notifications. If you allow it, your location while you use the app, to find pros near you or set your job's neighborhood. We do not track location in the background.

This website

If you join the waitlist: your email address, whether you want to hire or work as a pro, and your ZIP code if you give it. Our host keeps standard server logs. The site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To match requests with pros and rank pros by verified ratings, reply speed, distance and track record.
• To run quotes, chat, bookings, payments, refunds and payouts.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our rules and review reports.
• To send you notifications about your requests, quotes, messages and bookings.
• To email waitlist members when GigHuntr opens near them.
• To fix bugs and improve GigHuntr.

Who can see what

• Pros quoting your request see your first name, neighborhood and the request details.
• The pro you hire also sees the job address, for that job only.
• Customers see a pro's public profile, ratings from verified hires and reviews.
• Everyone on a conversation sees its messages.

AI assistants

Pros can connect their own Claude or ChatGPT account, or use GigHuntr from those assistants through a connector. When they do, the pro's leads, quotes, messages and jobs are sent to that AI provider to answer the pro's requests, under the pro's own agreement with that provider. The assistant acts only as that pro and follows the same rules: no job address unless that pro was hired. Sending a quote or a message needs the pro's approval.

Service providers

We use providers for hosting and databases, payments and payouts, notifications and email. They process data only to provide their service to us. We may share information when the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, with notice to you.

Children

GigHuntr is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@gighuntrapp.com and we will delete it.

How long we keep data

We keep your account data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove it from our live systems, except records we must keep for payments, taxes, fraud prevention or legal reasons, which we keep only as long as needed. Waitlist entries are deleted on request.

Your rights

You can see and edit your profile, block users and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have rights to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing, which we do not do. To make a request, email privacy@gighuntrapp.com. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Database access is limited to each user's own records, and staff access is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away at privacy@gighuntrapp.com if you think your account has been compromised.

Changes

We will tell you in the app or by email before material changes take effect.
