Pro agreement
Last updated October 25, 2026
This Pro Agreement applies to anyone who offers services on GigHuntr as a pro, whether as an individual or for a business ("you"). It adds to the GigHuntr Terms of Service, which also apply to you, between you and XII Studios LLC, doing business as GigHuntr ("GigHuntr", "we", "us"). Words defined in the Terms mean the same here. If this agreement and the Terms conflict on something about pros, this agreement controls. Section 20 of the Terms (individual arbitration and class action waiver) applies to you, under the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules if you act as a business.
1. You are an independent business
- You run your own independent business. You are not an employee, agent, joint venturer or partner of GigHuntr, and you have no authority to bind us.
- You decide whether to use GigHuntr, which leads to quote, what to charge, whether to accept a job, and how, when and where to do the work. We do not set your hours, require you to accept any job, train you, or supervise or control your work. You may use other platforms and find customers anywhere else, including competitors.
- You provide your own tools, equipment, materials, vehicle, insurance and helpers, at your own cost.
- You are not entitled to wages, benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment insurance or reimbursement from us.
- If you hire helpers or subcontractors, they are your responsibility in every way, including pay, taxes, licensing, insurance, conduct and compliance with the law. Customers must be told before anyone other than you comes to their home.
2. Licenses, permits and the law
- You hold, and keep current, every license, registration, permit, certification and insurance the law requires for the services you offer and the places you work, and you obtain any permits a job needs.
- In California, work worth $1,000 or more in combined labor and materials, or any work that needs a building permit, generally requires a license from the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Do not split a job into smaller ones to avoid this. Unlicensed contractors may not be able to recover payment and may face penalties. Other states and cities have their own rules. You are responsible for knowing and following them.
- Do not advertise or quote work you are not licensed to do. If you show a license, it must be yours, current, and in good standing. Report any change, suspension or lapse to us right away.
- You follow all laws that apply to your business and your work, including consumer protection, home improvement contract and cancellation rights, advertising, privacy, safety, environmental, and anti-discrimination laws. Where the law requires a written contract, notice of cancellation rights, or limits on deposits (in California, a home improvement down payment may not exceed 10% of the contract price or $1,000, whichever is less), you are responsible for meeting those requirements.
3. Your profile and quotes
- Everything in your profile must be true, current and yours: business name, photos, portfolio, services, service area, prices, years in business, license details and links. No stock photos presented as your work, no work done by others, and no fake credentials.
- Badges. A badge says only what we checked and when. We may check licenses, phone numbers or other details, and may remove a badge or your profile if information turns out to be wrong.
- Quotes must be honest and clear about what is included. If your price is an estimate or hourly, say so. Do not quote a low price you do not intend to honor.
- Changes to price or scope must be agreed by the customer before you do extra work, using the change request in the app when the job is booked through GigHuntr.
- Reply to customers promptly and professionally, show up when you say you will, and keep customers informed of delays.
4. Leads and credits
- You pay for the chance to quote a request (a "lead") with credits. Each lead shows its credit cost before you quote. Viewing leads is free.
- New pros receive free starter credits. Other credits are bought in packs at the prices shown in the app. Credits bought in the app are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase when we offer them, and Apple's terms apply to those purchases.
- Credits are a license to use a feature, not money. They have no cash value, are not refundable or transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash, except as the law requires or as stated here.
- Credits come back automatically if the customer cancels the request before hiring anyone, or the request expires without the customer opening your quote.
- A lead is a chance to quote, not a promise of work. We do not guarantee that any customer will reply, hire you, or be ready to buy, and credits are not returned just because you were not hired.
- Each request is capped at a set number of quotes (currently 5).
- We may change credit prices or lead costs for future purchases and leads. Credits are not returned when you close your account, except as the law requires.
5. Payments, fees and payouts
When card payments are available:
- Payment collection. You appoint GigHuntr as your limited payment collection agent to accept payments from customers for your services through the Service. A customer's payment to us satisfies the customer's obligation to you for that amount.
- Holding and release. Customer payments are held until the customer confirms the job is done, or 72 hours after you mark it done if the customer has not confirmed or reported a problem. Then we release your earnings.
- Our fee. We keep a service fee from your earnings, currently 10% of the job price. Customers pay their own customer service fee on top. Fees are shown in the app and may change for future bookings.
- Payouts are sent through Stripe Connect to the bank account you add, automatically and free, usually within 2 business days. You must complete Stripe's onboarding and identity checks and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Payout timing depends on Stripe and your bank.
- Cash out now (optional). You can instead send money that is ready to an eligible debit card, usually within 30 minutes, for an instant cash out fee (currently 1.5%, minimum $0.50). The fee and the amount that will land are shown before you confirm, and the fee is taken from your Stripe balance.
- Refunds, chargebacks and adjustments. If a customer is refunded under the Terms (for example, you cancel, or a reported problem is decided in the customer's favor), or a payment is reversed or charged back, we may deduct the amount from your held or future earnings, or ask you to repay it.
- Late cancellation fees paid by a customer under the Terms are passed to you, less our fee.
- Tips are paid to you in full.
- Taxes. You are responsible for all taxes on your income and services, including collecting and paying any sales tax on your services where it applies. Our payment processor may collect your tax information and issue tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) as the law requires.
- Until card payments are available, you and the customer arrange payment directly. GigHuntr is not involved in those payments and does not hold, protect or refund them.
6. No going around GigHuntr
For 12 months after you first connect with a customer through GigHuntr, do not ask or encourage that customer to book or pay outside the Service to avoid fees, and do not share contact details for that purpose before you are hired. Payments made outside the Service are not covered by payment holding, problem reports or refunds.
7. Reviews
- Only customers who booked you through the Service can review you. You may reply publicly, politely and without personal information.
- Never offer or give money, discounts, credits or anything else in exchange for a review or for changing or removing one, never pressure or threaten a customer about a review, and never review yourself or a competitor.
- If a review breaks the Community Guidelines, report it. We will not remove a review just because it is negative.
- External ratings you link (for example, from other websites) must be your own business's.
8. Conduct and safety
- Treat customers and their homes, families, pets and property with respect. No harassment, discrimination, threats, or inappropriate behavior of any kind.
- Never ask a customer for payment by gift card, wire transfer, cryptocurrency or a link outside the app.
- Use customers' personal information, including their address and phone number, only to do the job you were hired for. Do not share it, sell it, or contact customers for unrelated purposes. Delete it when you no longer need it for the job or legal records.
- Follow the Community Guidelines and our safety rules. Report anything unsafe to safety@gighuntrapp.com, and call 911 in an emergency.
- We may suspend you while we investigate a report, and remove you if we reasonably believe you broke this agreement, the Terms or the law, or put anyone at risk.
9. Insurance
You keep insurance appropriate for your work, such as general liability insurance and, where the law requires it, workers' compensation and commercial auto insurance. GigHuntr does not insure you, your work, or customers' property. If a customer asks for proof of insurance, provide it or tell them you do not have it.
10. The GigHuntr connector for AI assistants
If you connect GigHuntr to an AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT), you choose what it may access and do. Quotes, messages and anything else it sends in your account are your responsibility, exactly as if you sent them yourself. Check prices, dates and wording before you rely on them. Your assistant's provider handles the information it reads under its own terms and privacy policy.
11. Your content
Your profile, photos, portfolio and replies are your content under the Terms. You give us the license described there, including to show your public profile and reviews in the app, on gighuntrapp.com, in search engines and in our marketing of the Service. You confirm you have the rights, including permission from any person shown, to everything you upload.
12. Indemnity
In addition to the indemnity in the Terms, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless XII Studios LLC and its owners, members, managers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, losses, damages, fines, penalties, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to: the services you provide or offer; injury, death, or property damage connected to your work; your helpers or subcontractors; your licensing, permits, insurance or taxes; any claim that you or your workers are employees of GigHuntr; and your breach of this agreement, the Terms or the law.
13. Ending this agreement
You can stop being a pro at any time by turning off leads or deleting your account. Finish or cancel your open bookings first. We may end or suspend this agreement under the Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive, including sections 1, 4 (credits have no cash value), 5 (refunds, chargebacks and taxes), 6, 8, 11 and 12, survive.
